Israeli occupation authorities have opened the Karam Abu Salem commercial crossing on Wednesday for the entry of limited quantities of Qatari fuel to run Gaza's power plant. According to the Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of Gaza's Supplies Raed Fattouh, Israeli authorities will allow the entry of ten trucks laden with aids and goods for the commercial and agricultural sectors in addition to limited quantities of cooking gas. Last week, Israel allowed the pumping of more than 1 million liters of Qatari industrial diesel for the power plant, in addition to limited quantities of Israeli diesel. Ahmad Abu al-Amrain, Head of the Information Office at the Energy and Natural Resources Authority in Gaza, has announced they will work during the coming period on improving power in the Gaza Strip with available fuel supplies. Israel has imposed a siege on the Strip six years ago and controlled goods and aids entry while banning raw and construction materials.
