Four days after closing it with cement blocks, Israel Thursday reopened the northern entrance to al-Ram, a town south of Ramallah following intervention from the Palestinian department of civil affairs, according to a statement. Israel closed the entrance Sunday under the pretext Palestinians throw stones at Israeli military vehicles in the area preventing as a result cars from entering or leaving the town through its northern entrance. The town mayor, Sarhan Salaymeh, had described the closure as collective punishment.
