Iran’s test launch of ballistic missiles

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon called on the UN to condemn Iran’s test launch of ballistic missiles this week,

The Jerusalem Post reported."Iran continues to disregard its obligations to the UN resolutions," Danon wrote in an urgent letter sent to members of the UN Security Council on Saturday.

"This latest provocation makes it clear that the 'smile campaign' of the current regime is nothing more than a smokescreen to disguise the real intentions of the ayatollah regime," Danon added.

The ambassador pointed out that the missile test is "a gross violation" of Security Council resolution 2231, which endorsed the nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group and restricts Iran from launching missiles capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

The United States, which had imposed sanctions against businesses and individuals in January over another missile test in October 2015, said on Wednesday it was aware of and reviewing reports of an additional Iranian ballistic missile test and that the administration would determine an appropriate response.
