An Israeli soldier caught on tape attacking Danish activists was reprimanded for \"operational and ethical failures,\" officials said. Lt. Col. Shalom Eisner was shown on Palestinian TV last Saturday confronting protesters on Route 90. As activists mounted their bikes and prepared to ride en masse, soldiers blocked the road. Eisner told activists to \"move it\" and \"get out of here,\" declaring the protest illegal. One activist hit a soldier in the leg, provoking an altercation. In the video, Eisner is seen hitting a woman in the shoulder before striking her with his M-16 rifle. He then turned to attack another protester, after which he grabbed another woman by the hair. Military Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz relieved Eisner of his duties as deputy commander of the Jordan Valley Brigade, citing \"operational and ethical failures.\" Ynetnews.com reported Eisner was faulted for behavior unbecoming of an officer and also made ineligible for a promotion for the next two years.
