The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned Japanese nationals in Belgium to avoid unnecessary excursions or going near stations or airports in the wake of the deadly bombings in the country on March 22, the Japanese newspaper The Mainichi reported on Wednesday.
The ministry, which issued the warning on its website, said that as of October 2014 there were about 5,400 Japanese in Belgium. According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, about 112,000 Japanese visit Belgium each year.
