King Abdullah II of Jordan conferred here on Thursday with the UN-Arab League special envoy to Syria Kofi Annan on the latest developments in the region, mainly the situation in Syria as well as efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis. The Jordanian monarch stressed Jordan\'s support to Arab and international efforts designed to end bloodshed and violence in the neighboring country. Jordan, he added is ready to provide all support to the UN envoy to ensure the success of his mission and reiterated Jordan\'s support to a peaceful solution to the crisis that preserves Syria\'s unity and restores security and stability in the country. For his part, Annan briefed king abdullah II on efforts to end violence in Syria based on his six-point plan as well as on the outcome of his recent visit to Damascus and his meetings with Syrian officials. The envoy voiced appreciation of the king\'s support to initiatives that aim at resolving the Syria issue and highly valued Jordan\'s efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian refugees despite the lack of resources.
