Jordanian King Abdulla II met here on Thursday with French Foreign Minister Mr. Laurent Fabius, who is currently on a regional tour. During the meeting King Abdullah II reiterated Jordan’s stance on the Syrian crisis which calls for finding a quick political solution that preserves Syria’s unity and independence and puts an end to bloodshed and violence. King Abdulla II highlighted the need for concerted international efforts to end the crisis and spare the Syrians more suffering. The king warned against the ramifications of the Syrian crisis on the security and stability of the region. He said Jordan will continue to fulfill its duties towards the Syrian citizens who arrive in Jordan and provide them with needed services despite its economic hardships. The king voiced appreciation of France’s support to Jordan’s efforts in offering services to the refugees. The King and and the French minister also discussed means of forging closer cooperation in various fields. Earlier this week, France sent a military field hospital to the Kingdom to support it in addressing humanitarian challenges resulting from the Syrian crisis.
