Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled al Hamad al Sabah received a phone call Monday night from US Secretary of State John Kerry.

The two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual concern, a statement by Kuwaiti foreign ministry said Tuesday.

Kerry reiterated his country's appreciation for Kuwait over hosting Yemeni peace talks, voicing hope that such consultations would help in restoring security and stability in the conflict-torn Arab country.
