Sadiq Khan has made history by being named London's first Muslim Mayor, local media reported Friday.

The Labour son of a bus driver from Tooting triumphed over Tory rival Zac Goldsmith tonight. 

Official results are expected to be announced later, but Khan was the clear winner by about 7 pm.

Sadiq Khan is now unofficially being called the new London Mayor. Sources at City Hall say it is now mathematically impossible for Conservative Mayoral candidate Zac Goldsmith to win. Besides Zac Goldsmith and Sadiq Khan, there were 10 other candidates standing in the contest.
