Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation today discussed the situation in Syria.

      The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides discussed the preparations for a meeting on Syria in the Kazakh capital, Astana. They also stressed continuation of efforts by Moscow, Tehran and Ankara for the settlement in Syria .
