The main stage of Egyptian-French military drill has kicked off on Friday with the participation of air and naval forces from both countries, said a statement by the Armed Forces.
Egypt and France on Sunday began joint military exercises dubbed "Ramses-2016" off the coast of Egypt's coastal city of Alexandria.
The main stage includes the execution of key activities through joint aerial and naval fighting.
The drill is meant to enhance the skills and abilities of participating forces and exchange expertise according to the latest systems and methods of air and sea combat.
The exercise was attended by Egypt's Commander of Naval forces Major General Osama Mounir and French Commander of Naval Forces.
