The Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al Arabi, left cairo for Beijing, on Thursday for a several day visit to China during which he holds talks with the Chinese senior officials on the syrian crisis . Al -Arabi will also ask the chinese government to continue supporting the six-point plan of the UN-Arab league special envoy kofi annan in addition to other arab issues of mutual concern. It is noted that the visit comes at a critical time for the region, which requires more exchange of coordination and support between the Arab countries and China, in order to achieve international consensus regarding methods of politically tackling the ongoing crisis and supporting aspirations of the Arab peoples towards freedom, development and luxury, Arab League said in a statement on Thursday. According to the statement, el-Arabi’s talks with the Chinese officials also focus on the latest regional developments and issues of mutual concern, notably the Palestinian issue, the situation at Sudan-South Sudan borders, and the issue of UAE’s three islands occupied by Iran. The talks will also address of means of pushing Arab-Chinese cooperation ties forward, and the ongoing preparations for the fifth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum, which is due to take place in Tunis on May 29 under the theme of “Deepening Strategic Cooperation and Supporting Joint Development.”
