Florida police have confirmed there has been a shooting at a nightclub in the city of Orlando. 
They said there were multiple injuries. 
Reports on social media suggest the gunman may have taken hostages, but that is unconfirmed. 
Police are expected to provide an update on the situation shortly. 
"Everyone get out of Pulse and keep running," the nightclub posted on Facebook.
