Al Nusra Front militants shelled many Syrian towns, including Aleppo and Latakia, over the past 24 hours with the aim of undermining the six-week truce announced in Syria and approved by the US and Russia, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian Center for reconciliation in Syria reported three violations of the truce committed by Qaeda-affiliated Nusra front.

Also, Ahrar el Sham attacked three towns in Latakia countryside with mortar shells, it added.

The Russian air force, however, did not answer back these violations and refrained from targeting the armed groups that joined combat operations in Syria over the past 24 hours.
