Pakistan and the United States will make another effort to repair their badly damaged bilateral ties this week, officials here said. The US senate committee on intelligence chairperson, Dianne Feinstein, is reaching Pakistan (Tuesday) for talks with senior officials here on delicate issues pertaining to the relations between the two countries. A concerted bid last week by US envoy in the region Marc Grossman at the head of a high profile delegation proved inconclusive and apparently unsuccessful to break the impasse. Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States, Sherry Rehman, who came here last week for the visit of Marc Grossman to Pakistan, has been asked to stay on for assistance during talks with Feinstein. Dianne Feinstein is expected to stay here for two days. Pakistani officials say the US has failed to positively respond to demands for an apology on the Salala border post attack by Nato helicopters that killed 24 troops and a halt to drone attacks.e t
