Qaliubiya Governor Reda Farahat on Monday signed an EU €8mln grant agreement to develop slums in three cities of the governorate.

In statements, the governor said the slums development projects are not less important than other national projects carried out by the Egyptian government.

As many as 13 slums will be rehabilitated within the project, he added.

Housing Minister Mostafa Madboli, along with EU and German Embassy representatives, took part in a ceremony on the signing of the agreement.
