South Korea and China agreed Tuesday to establish a hotline between their defense chiefs as part of efforts to strengthen military cooperation for regional stability, officials said. The agreement was one of the measures discussed in a meeting between South Korea's vice defense minister Lee Yong-gul and Gen. Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese army, Korea's Yonhap news agency reported. The talks, the second of their kind, were held in Beijing to seek ways to expand bilateral exchanges and discuss situations on the Korean Peninsula, Seoul's defense ministry said.
