Saudi Foreign Minister praises Rouhani's remarks on Iran-Saudi relation

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir on Sunday praised remarks by Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on relations with Saudi Arabia.

Rouhani said Saturday Tehran was not interested in maintaining tensions with Saudi Arabia and that he wants to resolve the current tension.

Al-Jubeir called on Iran to stop intervening in the internal affairs of the region's countries.

Speaking at a news conference in Islamabad to mark the end of his two-day visit to Pakistan, Rouhani said Saudi plays an important role in the Muslim world and that "if there is any problem between two countries, it should be resolved through talks."
