President Abdel Fattah El Sisi agreed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during a phone call on Thursday to hold intensive consultations and coordination in the coming period to clinch political settlements to the Middle East crises.
During the phone call, Sisi expressed condolences over the victims of the Russian military plane crash last week, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Putin thanked Sisi and voiced appreciation to the Egyptian president, noting that the Egyptian-Russian ties are distinguished.
The two leaders underlined the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various domains, the spokesman said.
Putin underlined Russia's intention to resume regular flights between Cairo and Moscow soon.
The spokesman noted that the talks tackled a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially the Syrian and Libyan crisis.
