A small plane crashed at an airport in Osaka Prefecture, killing the four people onboard. 
Aerial images taken from a helicopter show the wreckage of the aircraft lying next to the runway at Yao Airport, Japan's (NHK World) website reported. 
The transport ministry says the Mooney M20C plane was flying from Kobe Airport. 
Local authorities are inspecting the accident site.
