Tabuk Gov. Prince Fahd bin Sultan will launch a number of municipal and utility projects in Taima region in Tabuk province on Wednesday.During his visit to the region, the governor will also inspect the progress of the ongoing projects. These projects are estimated to cost a total of SR882.38 million, according to Taima Gov. Sultan bin Shakhbout Al-Sultan.Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency yesterday, Al-Sultan said the people of Taima were delighted at Prince Fahd\'s forthcoming visit to the region. He appreciated the governor’s keenness in implementing a number of development projects aimed at improving the living standard of people and developing the infrastructure and utility projects in Taima. The governor will open several municipal projects as well as water, sewage and educational projects in the region. He will also lay foundation stones for a number of projects during the visit.Muhammad Al-Amri, mayor of Tabuk province, said the projects to be opened by Prince Fahd includes those for asphalting, lighting and pavement works in Taima and its rural centers, as well as projects for beautification of city gates, public squares and naming and numbering of streets. These projects are estimated to cost more than SR24 million.Prince Fahd bin Sultan will also lay foundation stones for new projects costing a total of over SR41 million. These included projects for the development of Hadaj historic region and surrounding heritage sites, asphalting, lighting and pavement work in Taima and its villages, flood control measures, rainwater drainage and building and beautifying gardens and parks.Saleh Al-Sharari, director general of water in Tabuk province, said Prince Fahd would open Taima water tower and lay the foundation stone for the third phase of a water treatment plant. The governor will be briefed on new projects that have been awarded recently. These include expansion of the fifth phase of sewage networks, sewage connections to homes and transmission of electricity to the sewage treatment plant.There are 16 water and sewage projects, costing a total of SR222.69 million, which are under various phases of implementation in Taima region. These include eight water projects with a total value of SR78.59 million and eight sewage projects costing a total of SR114.09 million, according to Al-Sharari. There are also water and sewage networks in the villages in addition to operation and maintenance of the governorate building, costing SR29 million.On his part, Muhammad Al-Laheedan, director of education in Tabuk province, said the governor would open and lay foundation stones for a number of educational projects. He will also inspect the progress of the ongoing projects. These projects are estimated to cost around SR163 million.Khaled Al-Wakeel, director general of the department for transport and roads in Tabuk province, said the governor would also open or lay foundation stones for a number of road projects besides inspecting ongoing projects with an estimated cost of SR431 million.
