The US will support the Iraqi government in liberating areas that are under the control of Daesh terrorist group, said Special Envoy to the Global Coalition to Counter Daesh group Brett McGurk.

Speaking at a conference held on Sunday, McGurk said that the Iraqi security forces and residents in Anbar are liberating their provinces. 

The real victory is when Daesh is defeated in Fallujah, he added. 

The US will also help Iraq in the reconstruction phase, he said.
