John Kerry

US Secretary of State John Kerry had talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of fighting terrorism and the Syrian and refugee crises.

The US-funded Radio Sawa quoted Kerry as saying in statements Tuesday that Turkey would receive 20 million US dollars from his government to help Turkey deal with the influx of refugees.

"We respect the fact that Turkey is trying to manage the lives of these refugees. We've committed today for the additional 20 million dollars specifically to our ongoing more than five billion that the American people have contributed to the effort to deal with this refugee crisis," Kerry said.

For his part, the Turkish minister said that he would discuss with Kerry promoting bilateral cooperation in fighting terrorist organizations, like Al Nusra Front and Daesh, as well as the Iraqi file.

Turkey hosts nearly 2.7 million Syrian migrants.
