US Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter will visit South Korea on Wednesday as part of his trip to Asia-Pacific nations. South Korean Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Han Hye-jin on Tuesday told a regular news briefing that Carter will make a two-day stop in Seoul from Wednesday as part of his trip to Asia-Pacific nations and meet with senior officials at the presidential office and the ministries of foreign affairs and defense. Han said the US official will hold a meeting with Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan on Thursday and discuss the situation in North Korea, policy coordination on the North, and pending issues on their bilateral alliance.
