The United States have allocated 25 million dollars in nonlethal aid to support Syria\'s opposition, said State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell. Ventrell said the US have spent 25 million dollars to support the rebels and will continue to help them financially. The announcement came yesterday, just a few hours after White House press secretary Jay Carney said that the United States have so far set aside 64 million dollars for humanitarian relief and nonlethal aid to the opposition and the Syrian population. Carney also criticized Syrian President Bashar al Assad saying \"his recent remarks show him for the coward that he is\". \"He hides out of sight, encouraging the heavily armed Syria military to continue slaughtering civilians in his name\".
