US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter reiterated on Wednesday US commitment to continue supporting the Gulf countries against Iranian practices, said Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdel Latif el Zayani.

Zayani gave the remarks during a joint press conference with Ashton that was held after a meeting between Gulf defense ministers and Ashton.

The ministers expressed concerns over the continued Iranian attempts to jeopardize security and stability, support terrorist organizations and meddle with countries' internal affairs, he said.
