Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari discussed here today with the Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council Saeed Jalili, the situation in the region and the relations between the two countries. A statement by Iraq Foreign Ministry said that the two sides “exchanged views on the situation in Syria and the deterioration of the situation to a worrying level for all countries in the region because of escalating violence there. The two sides also reviewed the latest developments of Iran’s nuclear program and emphasized the need to achieve concrete progress in nuclear talks. Jalili arrived in Baghdad today as part of a tour that included Lebanon and Syria.
