Egypt arrests owner, crew of shipwrecked refugee boat

Security bodies in Alexandria on Sunday arrested three suspects involved in the accident of the illegal immigration boat that capsized off Rosetta coast last week.

They were hiding in a residential apartment in Sidi Bishr, according to police.

The three suspects, whose ages range between 30 and 32, are residents of Kafr el Sheikh.

Defendants have been referred to the prosecution to launch investigations and take legal actions against them.

On September 21, a boat carrying illegal immigrants, mostly Egyptians, sank off the coast of the northern Egyptian city of Rosetta. About 200 people died.
