Bahrain is set to host the Fourth International Conference for a Euro-Mediterranean Community

Bahrain is set to host the Fourth International Conference for a Euro-Mediterranean Community of International Arbitration which will be opened on Sunday, November 19.

Patronised by the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry, the event is organised by the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA), in cooperation with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The conference, which brings together leading international arbitrators and professionals, aims to promote a sustainable society and climate across the Middle East and Europe, being a catalyst for economic growth and attractive investment.

The conference’s morning session will focus on the business and investment climate in the MENA Region, and impartiality and independence of arbitrators and the need to avoid conflicts of interest in international commercial arbitration. They will also shed light on practical aspects of investment arbitration procedure and transparency.

The evening will feature training sessions on impartiality and independence of arbitrators, in addition to investment arbitration procedure.
