Egyptian Ambassador in Beirut Mohamed Badr el Din Zayed has said that protecting expats is a priority of the Egyptian state.

Egypt is keen on strengthening bonds between Egyptian expats and their motherland, Zayed said in a meeting with representatives of the Egyptian community in Lebanon Tuesday.

The meeting tackled problems facing Egyptians living in Lebanon and a mechanism to ease obstacles, if any, they are having with the Lebanese authorities.

The Egyptian Embassy is always in contact with the Lebanese authorities to solve problems of the expats, Zayed assured.
