Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah

In the spirit of promoting selflessness and volunteerism, 800 girls form the Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Sajaya, a subsidiary of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, are volunteering at their ‘100 Hours of Giving’ summer programme launched recently in line with UAE's #Year_of_Giving.

The girls are engaging in a wide spectrum of activities aimed at developing dozens of humble family homes in Sharjah’s Kalba and Khorfakkan communities and ensuring the provision of comfortable living standards and overall wellbeing of the owners.

The programme’s young volunteers have shown great passion and enthusiasm in implementing its objectives, and their will to participate in social development and charity projects that target the less fortunate segments of society has shone through their dedicated efforts. The programme has enabled its participants to view the important concepts of nationalism and social responsibility in new light, understanding the crucial role they must continue to play in ensuring sustained volunteerism and humanitarian action in their communities.

Several influential personalities like Dr. Habib Ghloum, Cultural Advisor at UAE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development; and Reem BinKaram, Director of the NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, have visited the girls, commending their sincere efforts and encouraged the spirit of empathy, generosity and patriotism in them.

Running until 24th August, the programme volunteers will be working for a total of 100 hours over four weeks, and spending five hours each day for five days a week. The development works are being implemented in collaboration with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SCCI, the philanthropic partner, and a few others.
