At least 10 people were killed and 23 others were injured when a passenger bus hit a truck in Pakistan's southwest Hub district on Monday morning, local media reported.
Dawn TV said that the bus carrying over 35 people was coming from provincial capital of Quetta when it collided with the truck in Hub area of the country's southwest Balochistan province.
The bus-truck crash resulted in the sudden death of seven people while the others got serious injuries.
The wounded passengers were shifted to a nearby hospital where three more breathed their last, bringing the death toll to 10.
Doctors said that the fatality number may rise as at least five among the injured people are in critical condition.
Police said that negligence on the part of bus driver was the main cause of the accident.
"We believe the bus driver dozed off before the accident happened as it's a long drive from Quetta. He was maybe too tired to stay up," local media quoted a police officer as having said.
The injured people said that the speed of the bus was also far above the legal limit and the visibility in the area was also low due to early winter fog.
