At least 18 people were killed and over 50 others injured in a stampede in Mumbai in the early hours of Saturday, a senior police official said. "The stampede broke out in the financial capital's posh Malabar Hill area where hundreds of people gathered to pay last respect to a spiritual leader who died Friday. While 18 people died on the spot, the injured have been admitted to a local hospital," he said on condition of anonymity. A probe has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the incident, the official added.
