Two Albanian sailors were killed during an operation to tow the stricken Norman Atlantic ferry to the Albanian port of Vlora, dpa cited the Italian navy as reporting.
The sailors on the tugboat were struck by a rope they had been attempting to attach to the ferry.
The official death toll in the Adriatic Sea disaster now stands at 12.
