A bomb blast struck a busy market in Nigeria's northeastern city of Maiduguri on Tuesday, killing about 20 people.

Local residents said a man blew himself up at Gamboru cattle market, killing 20 at least.

Newly-inaugurated President Mohamed Buhari pledged recently to wipe out the violence committed by Boko Haram group which is usually held responsible for such attacks.
