At least 476 people were killed and 425 others injured up till Monday in a series of earthquakes, measuring over seven degree at the Richter Scale, that hit Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province last week, military sources said. The sources said in a statement today that the earthquakes damaged an area of about 182 kilometers in Balochistan, killing 476 people and injuring 428 others. The army set up two field hospitals in the affected areas with 2,000 troops involved in rescue operations, the sources added. Relief convoys were attacked by unidentified gunmen both in air and on the ground and such attacks affected the pace of the relief work,” Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Salim Bajwa said.
