At least 5 people were killed and 50 others injured as a passenger train derailed in western Indian state of Maharashtra on Friday morning, local media reported. Police said at least 6 coaches of the train travelling from Ernakulam in Kerala to Nizamuddin, Delhi derailed. The incident took place near Ghoti, about 100 km from Nashik in the suburbs of the state capital Mumbai. The injured people were admitted to local rural hospital for treatment.
