A helicopter crashed on Friday in Istanbul, leaving five onboard dead, local media reported.

The ill-fated copter, a Sikorsky S-76 commercial utility helicopter, hit a tower of TV before it crashed in the outlying district of Beylikduzu, press reports said. The mayor of neighboring Buyukcekmece district and the Istanbul governor both confirmed that five were killed.

The Hurriyet daily reported that 7 people were aboard, including two pilots, four foreigners and one Turkish national.

Heavy fog was reported in the disaster area.
