Five people died after a fire broke out in a pyrite mine in northeast China's Liaoning Province, local authorities said Friday.
The accident happened in a pyrite mine under construction in Jianchang County around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday when six workers were carrying out maintenance operation underground. Only one worker survived, according to the county government.
All bodies of the victims were carried out of the mine by midnight.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
