Six people were killed on Tuesday in a collision between a mini-bus carrying children and a truck in Troyes in central department of Aube, local media reported.
According to the AFP, five kids died in the accident which happened at 15:00 local time (1300 GMT).
"It is a fatal accident with many victims," Troyes prosecutor Alex Perrin, was quoted as saying.
Officials from Aube prefecture were not immediately available to give further details on the accident' cause and victims.
