Moscow - KUNA
Seven police officers were killed and 18 others were injured on Thursday in the Chechen capital of Grozny during clashes with armed men.
Russian TV quoted security sources as saying seven law enforcement officers have been killed, as well as seven armed men, in an "anti-terrorist operation in the chechen capital." Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said on his Instagram page that the security raid was carried out "to destroy the bandits reached its final phase," and that he personally headed the operation.
However, a group of gunmen were hiding at a school while armoured vehicles were brought in as part of preparations to storm it.
