Authorities in Brazil said Wednesday that nine men were killed in a series of attacks following the slaying of a police officer in the city of Belem.
Para state's public safety department said that assailants arrived by motorcycle in several of the attacks, four of which took place in the same neighborhood.
Police Chief Luiz Fernandez said that officials are investigating whether the cases are related to the slaying of Antonio Figueiredo, an officer in a special tactical team who was off duty.
