At least twenty-five people have been killed and 350 others were injured in clashes between anti-government protesters and police in the capital Kiev, the Ukrainian Health Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Interior Ministry said nine police officers were among the dead.Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovich accused the opposition of crossing the line by taking arms against security forces.Yanukovich and opposition leaders are expected to hold a meeting to contain the situation.Earlier Tuesday , at least seven people killed including two police officers and dozens others were injured in clashes between police and protesters in Kiev. In the worst violence in weeks, police used rubber bullets and stun grenades to stop thousands of protesters marching on parliament, according to the BBC.
On Tuesday, thousands of protesters tried to march on the parliament building to put pressure on the government to address constitutional reform. But the march was blocked by lines of police vehicles.
