Loud explosions on Thursday rocked the area around the crash site of downed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in east Ukraine after Australian and Dutch experts gained access for the first time in nearly a week, an AFP journalist said.
Several blasts rang out just a few kilometres short of the vast site and black smoke could be seen coming from a village close to where some of the plane wreckage is lying.
