An Indian MIG-29 fighter jet crashed in India's Eastern State of Gujarat, defense sources said Friday. The incident happened near open farms in Jamnagar area of Gujrat when the plane was on a routine sortie. The pilot of the aircraft was safe as he ejected just minutes before the aircraft crashed, according to the military sources. Soon later, the sources said the Indian air force helicopters were pressed into service taking a senior air force officer to the scene and rushing the pilot to a military hospital in Jamnagar. The Defense Ministry has ordered a probe into the incident. On June 25, a MiG-29 fighter crashed in the same eastern state. In 2012, nine air force personnel were killed when two Mi-17 helicopters collided during a practice for a bombing mission in the same area
