Unknown armed gangsters early Monday brutally murdered five people at a petrol station in Naivasha, about 90 km southwest of the Kenyan capital Nairobi. Naivasha police commander Charles Kortok confirmed the incident, saying the suspects were heavily armed when they raided the fuel station and stole 11,600 U.S. dollars. "The armed gangsters killed two female and three male workers and also stole 1 million shillings (11,600 dollars). We are pursuing them but no arrest has been made so far," Kortok said in Naivasha. The local police commander said two other people sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized. He said investigations are also underway to establish the cause of the murder at 3 a.m. local time. The survivors of the ordeal said the gangsters armed with crude invaded a hotel at the station and ordered those present to lie down and went ahead to shoot the five. "Among those killed were one watchman [night guard], two petrol attendants and two female who were working at the restaurant," said one of the witnesses who did not want to be identified.
