Guangxi rainstorms

Two people were killed and more than 180,000 residents have been affected by torrential rainstorms in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local authorities said Friday.
Heavy rainstorms since Tuesday have killed two locals and affected 182,700 residents in 17 townships and districts under four cities as of 4:30 p.m. Friday, a statement from the regional civil affairs department said.
A total of 1,330 hectares of crops have been affected and more than 201houses have collapsed. It is estimated the rainstorms have caused direct economic losses worth of 466.4 million yuan (74.6 million U.S.dollars), the statement said.
