Yemen Huthi militia

Yemen Houthi militia started besieging the 29th Mechanized Infantry (“Giants”) Brigade in Amran governorate, Al Masdar Online newspaper reported on Thursday.

Earlier, head of the brigade, Brig. Gen. Hafizullah al Sadmi, rejected Houthis orders to join their militants in Ma'rib governorate and near the Saudi borders.

Houthis, who are controlling the army, ordered Sadmi to deploy six battalions to their required destinations after their continues defeat from the resistance and the Arab coalition, sources said.

Meanwhile, the brigade's officers and soldiers condemned Houthis besiege and set up barricades around the brigade's headquarters in order to stop Houthis from entering or storming it, sources further said.

Yemen has been rocked by months of fighting between the Houthis and loyalists of Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi, supported by the Arab coalition, leaving thousands dead and 21 million people in need of urgent aid.
