At least eight people were killed and seven others injured when a suicide bomber tried to enter a police station in central Lahore on Tuesday, CNN reported quoting the Pakistani police.
Jamaat ul Ahrar, a breakaway faction of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Initially, authorities thought the explosion was the result of a car bomb, Inspector General Ameen Vais said.
All the victims were civilians, Haider Sharif, a police official, said.
