A mechanical malfunction caused by a signal failure led to the collision of two subway trains in Seoul a day earlier that left more than 230 people injured, city officials said on Saturday.
A train rammed into the rear of another that had stopped at Sangwangsimni Station on Subway Line 2, the capital city's busiest route, on Friday, leaving 238 passengers with bruises, cuts and sprains. No fatalities were reported.
